What the Package Includes

DESCRIPTION:

This North Umpqua Adventure is a 2 day, 2 night guided hiking tour through our favorite spots in the North Umpqua with lodging provided at Umpqua’s Last Resort. Check into the Resort any time after 3pm. We recommend a visit to the Umpqua Hot springs or one of the local waterfalls a short drive away. Enjoy dinner at one of the area dining options or grill outside at your accommodations. Spend the evening with a campfire under the stars. Your first morning after breakfast, meet with your guide at the resort office at 9am. Embark on the one-of-a-kind Yellow Jacket Loop Trail; this is a high elevation trail through exquisite high mountain meadows full of wildflowers and abundant wildlife. It is by far one of the most beautiful places to visit in the North Umpqua in the summer. Rhododendrons surround this

magnificent area and make it truly a unique area of the Umpqua. That night you will return to the Resort and enjoy a relaxing evening in your accommodation. Grill a dinner on the charcoal grill at your accommodation or make reservations at Steamboat for a unique dining experience. After packing up and checking out of your accommodations, your 2nd day consists of a guided hike to Twin Lakes. Two fantastic lakes sit below a 5850ft mountain, the trail loops both lakes and you can climb to the top for a spectacular view. Finally, return to the Resort to pick up your car and depart. This tour is available Mid-May to Mid-October depending on snow fall. These special places cannot be accessed during heavy snow activity.

• Lunch is provided each day from the Dry Creek store Deli.
• Mountain Spring water to fill your water bottles.
• Our licensed and professional guides and shuttles to/from the hikes.

• Transportation to & from the Resort before & after your stay.
• Trail snacks and canteen/camelback
• Breakfast and Dinner each day

OUR TIPS/RECOMENDATIONS:

• Poison Oak, ticks and mosquitos can be prevalent on the North Umpqua Trails. Bring repellent/Tech-Nu!
• The North Umpqua Trails are high endurance hikes. Make sure you are in good working order to ensure
• an optimal hiking experience.
• Bring swim-wear! There are many opportunities to cool off.
• Bring good hiking shoes that fit well and are comfortable.

Package Schedule

Day 1:

Check in at Umpqua’s Last Resort any time after 3pm and enjoy an evening with a campfire under the stars. We recommend a short trip (not guided) to the Umpqua Hot springs before dinner!

Day 2:

Meet at Umpqua’s Last Resort office at 9am for transport to the Yellow Jacket loop trailhead. You will experience an amazing high elevation hike through the wildflower meadows a true spectacle of wildflowers June through late July. After the hike our guide will shuttle you back to the resort and your accommodation.

Day 3:

Pack up and check out of your accommodation and meet at Umpqua’s Last Resort office at 9am Our guide will drive you up the mountain to Twin Lakes where you will be guided around the lakes, stop lakeside for lunch and then to the top of Twin Lakes Mountain for an incredible view. At the end of your tour you will be shuttled back to your cars.
